Navigation is changing. Raymarine launches the Axiom 2, the multifunction display that redefines on-board performance — and we already have it available in all versions.
If you're used to a Raymarine chartplotter on board, you already know what we mean when we say LightHouse 4 is the most advanced operating system for recreational boating. Now Raymarine has taken a decisive step forward, and the Axiom 2 is the result: 6-core processor, Gigabit Ethernet, 64 GB of internal storage and chart rendering up to 30% faster than the previous generation.
Three sizes — 7", 9" and 12" — available as a standalone chartplotter or combined with the integrated RealVision™ 3D sonar, with the option to include the RV-100 transducer directly in the box.
What really changes compared to the previous generation
The generational leap of the Axiom 2 is not just marketing. The numbers speak clearly.
The 6-core processor ensures smooth scrolling and instant chart redrawing, even when navigating information-dense areas or managing multiple windows simultaneously — radar, video, plotter and NMEA data on a single screen, without stuttering.
Gigabit RayNet Ethernet (10/100/1000 Mbit/s) is a significant change: communication between displays, radar, sonar and cameras runs at speeds up to 10 times faster than previous networks. In practice: smoother video, more responsive radar, zero lag in complex on-board networks.
The 64 GB of internal storage definitively solves the space problem: waypoints, tracks, chart updates and applications reside on the device, without depending on external SD cards for working memory.
Display: brightness designed for the sea
Those who navigate know it: a display that works well in the living room is almost useless on board during peak hours, with the sun beating sideways on the dashboard. Raymarine took this into account when designing the Axiom 2.
- Axiom 2 7": IPS display at 1,800 nits, 1024×600 WSVGA resolution
- Axiom 2 9": IPS display at 1,500 nits, 1280×720 HD Widescreen resolution
- Axiom 2 12": IPS display at 1,800 nits, 1280×800 WXGA resolution
The HydroTough™ nano-coating protects the screen from impacts, water and stains while maintaining accurate touch response even in rain or with wet hands. IPS technology ensures wide viewing angles: the display is easily readable from the side, without having to stand directly in front of the screen.
RealVision™ 3D: the sea beneath the keel, in detail
Sonar variants integrate a 600 W multi-channel CHIRP sonar offering four detection technologies:
High CHIRP (100 W / 200 kHz) to identify fish schools and read bottom density and consistency.
CHIRP DownVision™ (35 W / 350 kHz) for high-definition images of submerged structures, rocks, seagrass meadows, wrecks and any artificial object below the keel.
CHIRP SideVision (70 W / 350 kHz) for lateral scanning to the right and left of the vessel, with an overview of the surrounding environment that traditional conical sonar cannot provide.
RealVision 3D (70 W / 350 kHz) for a GPS-stabilised three-dimensional bathymetric model of the bottom and water column, in real time while underway.
The RV-100 transducer can be included in the box or purchased separately; with the A80490 adapter cable, CPT-S and compatible AIRMAR transducers can also be connected for operation at greater depths.
LightHouse 4 and 30+ nautical apps
The Axiom 2 runs on LightHouse 4, the Raymarine operating system that has transformed the chartplotter from a simple navigator into an integrated on-board platform.
From the Axiom 2 you can access over 30 additional nautical apps: Windy for advanced weather forecasts, Orca for automatic optimised route planning, energy monitoring systems, and — for those who want it — Netflix and Spotify during anchorage stops.
On the navigation side, the 10 Hz multi-constellation GPS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou) with −165 dBm sensitivity tracks up to 28 satellites simultaneously, with ≤5 m accuracy with SBAS (EGNOS in Europe). Automatic route planning is available with Navionics charts or through the Orca app.
The system supports Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki and other leading engines via NMEA 2000, with fuel and propulsion monitoring directly from the helm.
A system, not just a device
The Axiom 2 is designed to grow with your boat. Via RayNet you can network multiple Axiom displays, Quantum 2 or Cyclone radar, FLIR thermal cameras, marine cameras with ClearCruise augmented reality, Evolution autopilots and wind, speed and depth instruments from the i50/i70s range.
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 enable OTA software updates, waypoint and route sync with smartphones, and remote control via the Raymarine app. The integrated MicroSDXC slot accepts pre-loaded chart cards.
