The Ultraflex front-mounted pumps for hydraulic steering come in the UP20F, UP25F, UP28F, UP33F and UP39F models. All have a check valve, which prevents the system from back-driving, and a pressure relief valve, with a 3/4" tapered shaft and elbow fittings for 3/8" hose. The UP20F has a corrosion-resistant composite reservoir and swivelling fittings. The UP25F, UP28F, UP33F and UP39F have a compact build with an axial piston system, a stainless steel shaft, a cast iron rotor for longer life and front oil filling, with 1/4" NPT fittings.

How to choose
The UP20F is the pump in the Hytech OBF kits (up to 175 HP); the UP28F is the one in the Nautech 1 OBF kit (up to 300 HP). Compared with the UP20F, the UP25F, UP28F, UP33F and UP39F have a compact axial-piston build with a stainless steel shaft and a cast iron rotor.
What's included and what else you need
- The pump only: a complete steering system also needs a cylinder, hoses and hydraulic oil
- For semi-flush mounting you need the flange: X74 for the UP20F; X57 or X64 for the UP25F–UP39F
Frequently asked questions
Can I tilt the steering wheel?
Yes, with the X72 steering wheel adjustment system: 60° in total across 5 positions, suited to the UP25F, UP28F, UP33F and UP39F pumps.
What stops the system from back-driving?
The check valve fitted to all the pumps, together with the pressure relief valve.
What hose is needed?
The fittings are elbow type for 3/8" hose (1/4" NPT on the UP25F–UP39F).
