Auxiliary power on board is increasingly common. Since a second battery can protect the main battery from being drained and thus prevent starting failure, the Mastervolt Charge Mate 2502 is a safe and reliable solution to keep it always charged.
The second battery still needs to be recharged regularly: the Charge Mate series connects two battery banks during charging and keeps them isolated during discharge, completely automatically. With a max. current of 500 A, the Charge Mate 2502 offers four operating modes (on, off, auto, start assist) for maximum flexibility of use.
Automatic operation
The relay connects the two battery banks when the voltage exceeds the connection threshold (13-15 V at 12 V, 26-30 V at 24 V) after a 30-second delay, allowing simultaneous charging. When the voltage drops below the disconnection threshold, the systems are isolated again after a 3-minute delay, to protect the secondary battery from discharge.
