The onboard electrical system is usually made up of two or more batteries that operate independently to power the 12 or 24 V loads. These batteries require independent charging via reliable battery isolators. The Mastervolt Battery Mate 1602 IG is an electronic mosfet battery isolator that distributes current with negligible voltage drops.
Battery isolator with negligible voltage drop
Unlike conventional diode-based battery isolators, Battery Mate technology is electronic and mosfet-based. The components compensate for voltage drops and ensure that charging continues at the correct voltage, even with multiple battery banks. It is compatible with any type of alternator/charger, in both new and existing systems, guaranteeing linear current output and fast, complete charging without additional settings.
Charging two high-capacity batteries
The Battery Mate is multi-output, suitable for use with alternators from different brands, even if their charging voltage is not adjustable. The 1602 model is suitable for alternators with a maximum charge current of 160 amps.
Clear monitoring and robust design
The LED display indicates which power input is active, ensuring safety and operational clarity. Completely corrosion-proof, made of anodized aluminium with electronic components coated in synthetic materials. Connections via solid bolts with lock washers make installation easier.
