Icom MA-600TRBB – Class B AIS Black Box Transponder with SO-TDMA Technology
Compact, rugged and designed for safer navigation. The Icom MA-600TRBB is a Black Box AIS transponder: it automatically transmits your vessel's data to other AIS-equipped vessels and receives the information from the vessels around you. It is intended for pleasure and commercial vessels not subject to SOLAS regulations.
SO-TDMA Technology (Self-Organizing Time Division Multiple Access)
At the heart of the MA-600TRBB is SO-TDMA (Self-Organizing Time Division Multiple Access) technology, a self-organizing channel access system that makes AIS transmission more reliable even in the busiest areas:
- 5 W output power: greater range and transmission radius than 2 W Class B transponders.
- More frequent, accurate and reliable data updates of your position to other vessels.
- Self-organizing: the unit constantly monitors the radio frequency and builds a real-time map of free and occupied transmission slots.
- Slot priority: it reserves transmission slots to avoid overlaps and interference, so the signal is always sent, even in heavily trafficked areas.
