Icom IC-U20SR PMR446 – Portable On-Board Service Radio (Not a Marine VHF)
The Icom IC-U20SR is a lightweight and rugged PMR446 handheld radio designed for internal communication, dockside logistics and crew coordination. It is a short-range PMR446 device approved for EU licence-free use, and not a marine VHF radio for navigation or maritime safety communications.
With its IP54 rating, the IC-U20SR withstands dust and splashes, making it suitable for daily use around marinas, shipyards, service areas and onboard environments—while remaining fully distinct from certified VHF marine transceivers.
The backlit LCD provides excellent readability even under direct sunlight, and the simplified keypad ensures quick and intuitive operation, ideal for teams with frequent staff rotation. The built-in VOX feature enables hands-free communication during manoeuvres, technical activities or onboard tasks.
Offering up to 21 hours of operating time, 16 PMR446 channels, Smart Ring/Call Ring functions for call confirmation and convenient USB-C charging, the IC-U20SR is a reliable communication tool for crew members, dock workers, technical staff and support operations.
