Vai al moduloThe Garmin GPS 73 is a simple and reliable handheld marine GPS designed for powerboats, sailboats and small watercraft without a chartplotter, and ideal as an emergency navigator for any vessel. It combines a high-sensitivity receiver with dedicated marine features such as the man overboard (MOB) button, route planning and the SailAssist function for racing. It is floating, rated IPX7 and offers more than 18 hours of battery life on two AA batteries.
Key features
Quick satellite acquisition
The built-in high-sensitivity GPS receiver quickly acquires the satellite signal and keeps your position even in challenging conditions, giving you all the information you need to navigate.
Waypoints, routes and tracks
You can store up to 1,000 waypoints, 50 routes and a track log of 10,000 points with 100 tracks, so you can easily return to your favourite fishing spot, your mooring or the racing mark.
SailAssist for racing
SailAssist lets you set a virtual starting line between two points, such as the buoy and the committee boat, and use the race countdown timer to cross the line at exactly the right moment, with distance to the line and a speed history graph. After the start it switches automatically to tack assist, which shows whether wind shifts are lifting or heading your boat compared with the optimal tacking angle, so you know when to tack.
Dedicated marine features
GPS 73 includes the MOB (man overboard) button to mark and navigate straight back to the position, route planning, navigation data and marine alarms. With a compatible NMEA 0183 device connected, it can also display true wind data.
Connection to onboard instruments and PC
Thanks to the NMEA 0183 interface, it can be connected to other instruments on board. Via a USB cable it connects to your computer to transfer data, save recorded tracks and plan routes with the free Garmin HomePort software.
High-contrast display and backlight
The interface is intuitive, with back-lit buttons and a high-contrast display that is easy to read in all lighting conditions. A hunt and fish calendar, sun and moon information and area calculation are also included.
