Dive Computer and Multisport Smartwatch with AMOLED Display
The Garmin Descent Mk3i 51 mm is an advanced dive computer with multisport smartwatch functionality, designed for both recreational and technical divers. The 1.4" (454 × 454 px) color AMOLED touchscreen with scratch-resistant sapphire lens delivers exceptional readability both above and below the surface. The reinforced polymer fiber case with titanium bezel and titanium PVD silver/black back cover combines extreme durability with a lightweight profile: 77.8 g without strap.
Depth Rating and Dive Modes
Water-resistant to 200 metres with a Dive-First design, metal inductive buttons, and multiple dive modes: single gas, multi-gas (nitrox and trimix), apnea, gauge, freediving, and closed-circuit rebreather (CCR). Each mode supports customizable data screens so divers can display exactly the metrics they need.
SubWave Sonar Network and Air Integration
SubWave sonar technology enables underwater communication via preset messages at distances up to 30 metres. When paired with the Descent T2 transceiver (sold separately), the Mk3i monitors tank pressure, depth and distance for up to 8 divers within a 10-metre radius. The Sidemount mode provides a visual guide to weight compensation and neutral buoyancy when diving in sidemount configuration.
Dive Readiness: Data-Driven Pre-Dive Assessment
The Garmin-developed Dive Readiness tool processes daily physiological parameters — sleep quality, physical activity, stress levels and jet lag — to estimate the body's overall readiness to dive. An exclusive feature that helps divers plan their sessions with greater awareness and safety.
DiveView Maps and Surface Multisband GPS
Full-color DiveView maps display bathymetric contours and over 4,000 georeferenced dive sites directly on the wrist. Multiband GPS tracks surface entry and exit points; the 3-axis underwater compass supports navigation below the surface. The variometer alerts divers via audio and vibration to descent and ascent rates during freediving.
Integrated LED Torch and Setup Sharing
The built-in LED torch provides white and red light with variable intensity and strobe mode, improving visibility in low-light conditions both underwater and at the surface. The Setup Sharing feature allows two compatible Descent computers to be synchronized before a dive, so each can act as a fully interchangeable backup for the other.

Out of the water, the Descent Mk3i functions as a fully featured smartwatch with 24/7 health monitoring: wrist-based heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, advanced sleep tracking, respiration and stress. It supports activity profiles for trail running, swimming, cycling, hiking, skiing, golf, surfing and more, with advanced metrics including VO2 max, recovery time, endurance score and running dynamics. Navigation features include TopoActive maps, SkiView maps, altimeter, barometer and 3-axis compass with turn-by-turn directions.
Connectivity and Garmin Dive App
The dive log syncs automatically with the Garmin Dive app (available for iOS and Android), enabling detailed analysis of maximum depth, bottom time, surface entry/exit points and equipment tracking. The Explore tool helps discover new dive sites with popularity ratings, weather conditions and public dive logs. Smart features include smartphone notifications, music storage, Garmin Pay contactless payments and Connect IQ compatibility. Compatibility with inReach devices enables satellite communication even at sea.
