The Cressi Start Pro 2.0 is the BCD jacket featuring high buoyant lift, particularly pronounced in the smaller sizes. It's the ideal choice for beginner divers, diving schools, dive centres and rental businesses, where reliability and ease of use are essential requirements for those taking their first steps underwater.
Material and Construction
The air cell combines 500 denier Cordura on the outside with 420 denier nylon on the inside, ensuring a good balance between abrasion resistance and overall lightness, suited to frequent use in training and rental contexts.
Pockets and Weight System
The external drop weight pockets feature a quick-release safety buckle, allowing immediate weight release in emergency situations. There are also 2 large zippered pockets, ideal for storing small accessories during the dive.
Backplate and Portability
The ultra-lightweight rigid backplate features a carry handle, making it easier to move the BCD complete with cylinder both in and out of the water — a feature particularly appreciated in school and rental settings where equipment is handled frequently.
Safety and D-rings
There are 3 dump/overpressure valves for safe management of excess air. The BCD features 4 technopolymer D-rings, 40 mm (2 on the shoulder straps and 2 on the lower part of the air cell) and 2 D-rings, 25 mm, on the pockets, for organised and secure attachment of instruments and accessories.
Fit and Size Identification
The shoulder straps with 50 mm buckles ensure quick, secure adjustment, while the size indication highlighted on the shoulder strap makes it easy to identify the correct size at a glance — a very useful detail for rental centres with multiple sizes available.
