The Cressi Scorpion is a 100% rear-volume BCD, extremely versatile for every type of dive. It combines a robust yet lightweight construction (2.450 kg in size M) with a compact travel volume, offering flexibility without compromising stability and reliability underwater.
Independent Harness and Comfort
The harness system, completely independent from the air cell, ensures absolute jacket stability on the diver, eliminating pressure on the chest, underarm and abdominal areas caused by the air cell expanding toward the back and around the cylinder. The harness layout is designed to be 100% unisex. The shoulder straps with internal stitching prevent any chafing even when diving without a wetsuit, while the waist strap with pulley-effect tensioning system ensures an optimal connection at this critical point, with adjustment achieved by pulling 90° outward from the D-rings.
High-Capacity Rear Air Cell
The high-capacity rear air cell (19 kg in size M) maintains a compact external stowage volume thanks to the elastic containment straps, which also make deflation easier and prevent air shifting during the dive, avoiding instability. The foldable structure makes packing in tight spaces easier, without compromising cylinder stability underwater thanks to the rigidity of the padding and the configuration of the air bladder.
Padding and Neutral Buoyancy
The fully padded harness features neutral-buoyancy padding made from closed-cell material, which prevents water or air buildup, reducing the BCD's intrinsic buoyancy and allowing for quick drying after the dive.
LAS 2.0 Weight System
The LAS (Lock Aid System) 2.0 weight system, positioned vertically in line with the cylinder behind the pockets, is perfectly integrated into the BCD's profile. It ensures maximum ease of weight insertion and complete safety against accidental loss thanks to anchors with a patented spring effect.
Inflator and Inflation System
The direct inflation system features a dual metal filter at the air inlet and a cylindrical shape around the valve, for a strong body and eye-catching design. Inflation has been recalibrated to be 50% faster than a traditional size M BCD (4 seconds at 1 atm). The sand-resistant design minimises the oral inflation nozzle, while the button with generous clearance prevents jamming from sand grains. The deflate button features a silicone gasket and is integrated into the profile to prevent unwanted inflation when pulling the empty hose.
Valves and Accessories
The new low-profile top dump valve includes a non-return valve that prevents accidental water entry. The BCD is also equipped with 4 ABS rings, a Y-shaped hose fitting, and a combination of 420 denier nylon plus 3 additional technical fabrics for maximum durability and resistance.
